One of the perks of living in the Netherlands is how centrally located it is to other European cities. With France, Germany, and Belgium only around 2-hours away by train, quick weekend trips are always within reach. So when two of our best friends said they were visiting Paris, it was an easy decision to meet them there with my mother-in-law in tow.
This was my first time in Paris and we only had 24 hours to see everything we could, so with no set itinerary we set off by foot to explore the City of Love.
We made our way from the Arc de Triomphe down the Champs Elysees to the Eiffel tower, and took a ride to the top just after sunset to view the city from above. The next morning, we spent our time wandering through the massive Louvre, where I was excited to see world-famous pieces like the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo, but ended up enjoying the Egyptian Antiquities exhibit most of all. We had a great time, though we only scratched the Parisian surface, and I'm already planning a second trip for later this summer to discover more of what Paris has to offer.
Until then, enjoy my video diary of our 24 hours in Paris.
